Updates at the New House

Did you ever feel that you can’t put up a good story about your latest project because it’s just not finished? I have. All month! Since we moved in 5 weeks ago, our house has been an ongoing series of projects, all going on at the same time, none finished of course. Makes for a pretty sparse blog 🙁 But I’m going to embrace the log in blog and show you day by day as best I can what I’ve been up to here at our new place. It’s like baby steps, one at a time.

There’s the painting, which I wrote about on Tuesday. We’re painting almost everything. I am a painting fool. I’m on painting autopilot. I just open the can, grab the brush and go! No procrastination there.
Last night I got the upstairs hallway done. We’ve got some trim on the stairs we can’t yet reach. But I’ll get The Chef up there on a stool and he’ll do it. Even though I’m a better trimmer than he is 🙂
I have a small corner in the foyer that is getting primed as we speak. I stripped off that wallpaper the other week and was working with Kilz for the 1st time last night. Have you ever painted with it? That stuff is like Elmers Glue! We have plaster underneath so Kilz it is.

That fireplace has since been painted white. Oh so fresh. But I’m not sure about painting the floor brick, what do you think?

Next will be my office. Take a look at my three windows and fireplace. Of course I picked this room for my own 🙂 I can’t wait to glam it up. I’m going girly in there!

I already have the paint. It’s called Dolphin by Martha Stewart. I’m also working on some projects in the garage. Now I know why men love their man caves. The garage is such a cozy place to work. I have a dresser waiting for some paint. An ottoman waiting for reupholstery. A side table waiting for love and some accessories for my office that need attention. {I haven’t shown you that table yet, it’s a doll} The list goes on.

Currently I’m painting these chairs for the backyard. We have no furniture and these babies were free on the curb in my former neighborhood so I’ll spray them up and give us a seating area.

And I think that’s about enough projects for one lady! Come back and see the finished products. I can’t wait to show you something that’s actually done 🙂

But first, tell me about your projects. Have you ever has so many going you couldn’t talk about just one? Do you have many projects in the wings? Tell all, we’ll share project stories.
