Now that it's October I can show you the really scary stuff going on around…
Backyard Tour
When we were buying our new house, it was a cool and rainy March. You know that time of year when there’s nothing blooming and it’s very dreary? Like this.
No plants, no flowers, not even weeds at the time. Until the spring came. And then we had weeds. Lots of weeds.
I love to garden and was excited to make our backyard look at least presentable, so I grabbed my garden kneeler, a bucket and started pulling.
This yard is small enough that it only takes me one evening to weed the whole thing. After I did, we got to see some beautiful roses under all those weeds.
I need to learn how to take care of them because they bloomed for a while and now seem to be slowing down. Do you know anything about rose care? I’d love to see this all summer long.
Since we’ve had so much inside work to do over the past few weeks, I didn’t get time to really pay attention to the backyard until this past weekend. My plan was to weed {again} and put in some mulch.
Yes that was me pushing 7 bags of heavy mulch in my cart across the Big Orange parking lot in my heels 🙂 Try it, it’s fun.
On Friday night {now you know what I do with my exciting Friday nights, I’m a wild one!} I got to work again in the yard, weeding, and mulching. Here’s where things are today.
I still have this empty patio corner where the air conditioning and grill are hanging out. I’d like to get an nice outdoor rug and a table and chairs. I’ve been checking the sales online.
I think we’ll string up my outdoor lights too and make it nice and summery, now that we’re moving into fall 🙂
Any other ideas for my patio space? Have you found some outdoor inspiration that you love? Feel free to share, our backyard is a blank slate!
