Last January I made some ambitious lists. One for projects I wanted to accomplish at…
Blog Goals 2012 ~ How Did I Do?
Pretty Photos
We know that photos can make a blog. Well, who doesn’t want to look at pretty pictures? We were lucky enough to get a Canon DLSR late 2011, so my photos went from this,
to this
With some paint and furniture an paint thrown in there of course. I love the camera and am practicing with it often.
Next up, Connect, Connect, Connect
This goal was about meeting, greeting and having fun. I think I did a little bit of it, but I’d like to do a lot more. Namely:
Host a giveaway – I’ve actually never done this
Participate in hosting a blog link up – With other bloggers. You want in?
Advertise more – I’ve done a few product reviews, but I definitely want to partner with the right brands and expand my horizons that way.
Help You Out
One thing I need to definitely pay more attention to is making my posts useful for you readers. I know that’s what people look for and doing ‘How To’ posts and tutorials are so much fun, so I will be planning on more of those in 2013. I want to make things fun and interesting, count me in on that.
Lastly, Identify Success
This was kind of a reflective goal. A way for me to think about my motivations for blogging and realize how I can get better at it. Blogging is my outlet from my professional job and my graduate studies and I think beginning with the end in mind can serve me well.
Do I need to think more about it? Absolutely. Will it help me in 2013? I think so.
My miscellaneous items included getting a professional picture – check; getting business cards – check, check; and switching to Word Press was a question on that item. While I didn’t get that far, I’m definitely planning on it ASAP. Advice is welcome.

Great list of goals and WELL DONE in achieving so many! Can’t wait to see all your projects in 2013 and want to share in your journey so let me know how I can help!! Hugs, Jennifer
I am in a time of transition. I have gone back to school so-to-speak, and am studying to become a financial advisor. But… my blog is a huge part of my life, and so is DIYing, thrifting… all those creative outlets. I used to blog 5 days a week, dropped to 3, and now I’m realistically only able to do 2 days a week and keep up with the rest of my life. I think the key is to be honest with where you’re at in your life, and adjust accordingly. You can never take back time you’ve spent, but you can spend your future time more effectively and wisely. That’s my mantra for this year, and so I am trying to work on a list of blog related goals. That’s my long answer to your question!!!

I’m working on a lot of the same things you are! I just love your house and hope I get to see it someday when we get to Buffalo!
Your house is so gorgeous!!! I love what Sheila said about how we can’t change how we’ve spent our time but we can recalculate to be more effective moving forward. With this move and so much up in the air in my real life I’m just taking the blog day by day right now … I’m still trying to find that balance between keeping it totally fun for me and spending the time to try to take it to the next level. You know?!? Great job with your goals. Can’t wait to see you again this year!!
that before and after shot is pretty impressive – both for the room makeovers and for the camera work! very nice!
cant wait to see you again in August!
