This past Thursday I had the fun of meeting another local blogger in person. It was the creative and talented Artie Vanderpool, who blogs at Color Outside the Lines. Artie is decorating one of the homes on the local Lewiston Holiday Tour of Homes and I was lucky enough to help him with some last…
Thank you so much for all the sweet comments on my holiday home tour! Each year I wonder how I’m going to decorate my home differently than the year before, and each year it’s so easy. I always have fun decking the halls. Don’t forget to visit all the other homes on the tour through…
The last two weeks around here have been a holiday decorating frenzy, with lots of crafts, stringing lights, and making things, all in preparation for today, my holiday home tour. Not only did I pull out all the stops to make my home a beautiful, welcoming place for the season, but I made a video…
Last weekend we hosted nine college friends for an annual ‘Friends-giving’, an event we have to celebrate the season with our two favorite things, our friends and food! I’d love to show you some of the tables I’ve set for the event and for some dinners here this season and share my Thanksgiving table ideas….
This weekend we are hosting a friends Thanksgiving, which has given me a perfect excuse to create a beautiful table for our guests. Of course I’m all about keeping things low cost if not free, since I have tons of supplies on hand, so I thought of making a new holiday table runner with some…
Welcome to my fall home tour! Today I’m participating in a week-long series with 24 other amazing bloggers by showcasing our seasonal decorations during this warm and cozy time of year. Today I’m going to give you a break on seeing our bathroom get demolished {although if you miss it, don’t worry there is more to come soon, I promise}. I thought I’d show you our winter mantel decorating. This is what I call everyday decor. It’s after the holiday season, before the spring, just simple…
Hello friends and happy 2013. I hope the new year has been good to you. I logged into Blogger this week to finally get back in the swing of things and it said my last post was 4 weeks ago.I’m hanging my head in shame. With such a busy {last} year and full time PhD…
Hello friends and Happy December 🙂 It’s about 50 degrees here, so it hardly feels like December, but I’ll take it. I’m in the throes of finishing papers as the semester winds down, but that doesn’t mean I don’t sneak away once in a while to work on a project or two. Today I want…
This year I’ve had so much fun decorating the house for Thanksgiving. I usually get that way for Halloween or Christmas, but something about November has me feeling very cozy. Perhaps because the end of the semester is near and I’m really looking forward to a holiday break, or maybe it’s because I am over…
One item that I think is great for fall and winter decorating is pine cones. I’ve collected quite a bit over the years and have all sizes that I like to display on my mantle. A way to make pine cones fun and festive is to add glitter. I mean, adding glitter to anything makes…
