When Dan and I got married, his older brother and sister had already been married for several years and had children of their own. So I got not one, but two sisters and two brother in laws and at Christmas I wanted to give my sisters, a little holiday present they both would enjoy. Since…
Thank you so much for all the sweet comments on my holiday home tour! Each year I wonder how I’m going to decorate my home differently than the year before, and each year it’s so easy. I always have fun decking the halls. Don’t forget to visit all the other homes on the tour through…

One project I did a long while ago that I’ve been dying to show you is how to antique a mirror. I custom cut up a long door mirror into pieces, used paint stripper and bleach to antique it and it’s been decorating my house ever since. I had seen a few ideas for how…

Things are really moving along in my upstairs bathroom makeover. Since I have fancied up my window with a fake roman shade, I needed to do something about the privacy in there. I decided that using window film would be a great idea to give us the coverage we needed but still look nice on…
One item I’ve been looking forward to making with my sewing machine is fake roman shades for some of our windows. Although I’m sure I could tackle the working shades, I had an idea to make fake ones for the bathroom and kitchen. My trip to Ikea last weekend was perfectly timed since I got…
Another part of my upstairs surprise bathroom makeover was to re-paint the sconces on the wall and the mirror to match. Now I know there is an easier way to do this – paint sconces {like take them down and outside} but I didn’t have time or patience for that. I wasn’t up for that…
