Tell me if this is how you feel about your living room. It’s one of the most-used rooms in the house. We spend all kinds of time in there and so we want it to be comfortable and our best reflection of our home’s style right? We lounge there, eat there {even though we’re not…
This year I promised myself I would take things easy when it came to blogging. It kind of came naturally after Cora was born, and life now moves a bit slower. For someone with a high need to get a lot of things done in a day, this was hard for me. But I’m welcoming…
Leave it to me to get a new living room rug just after I show you the whole room tour last week! But it’s true. I switched out the rug only a few days after I snapped the pics. I came a cross an amazing bargain and couldn’t pass it up. A new rug had…
Today I’m about to show you photos you’ve never seen before on my blog. They are just about the most common photos you’d see in any home decor blog, but I’ve been almost too embarrassed to let you see them on here, until now. Welcome to my living room tour! I don’t even know why…
This is my last weekend before I start another semester of classes on Monday so I will be spending it only doing crafts, furniture makeovers and all kinds of decoraty things. If you didn’t know, in my spare time I’m also a Ph.D. student entering my second year of coursework. It’s quite amazing, but yes,…
Our 112-year-old house comes with a fair number of unusual quirks. One of which is the windows. We have huge windows. With our 9 foot ceilings, and 8 inch moldings, the length from the floor to the top of the window frames is about 89 inches. That makes it hard to fit store-bought curtains for…

The time has finally come – Spring! It’s been consistently over 40 here and that has me dreaming of the warm sunny days ahead and of lightening up my decor of course. This past weekend I switched out the pillows in the living room with the new covers I made and made some other changes…
This year I’m working on bringing more color and pattern to my life. I’m very much a solid kind of girl, even in my wardrobe. But with a new year comes new thoughts right? So I’m expanding my color horizons and embracing some of the bright, pretty designs that are out. I made this goal…
Lately I’ve been loving deep blue colors. Maybe it’s winter, maybe it’s trendy, maybe it’s the desperate need I have to bring some color into our living room. I love the way blue feels in a home, it’s so universal and makes a great neutral or accent color. Sine we moved in last June we’d…
