Hello friends. Hope you had a nice weekend. We got to spend some time at…
The Closet Before
Alright friends, I need to warn you before you read another word.
What you are about to see may transform you into a total and complete makeover mood because I am about to show you some very serious before pictures. The before to end all befores. The before so bad you won’t look at before pictures the same way again.
I’m about to show you our master closet. It needs a complete makeover and boy is it going to get one.
This closet is a pretty large size, about six by four with a nine foot ceiling. I actually wanted us to have our bedroom where this closet is because of the closet’s lovely size. It has lots of space and room for hanging things on each side so I figured it would be great for his and hers.
Are you ready for some closet goodness?
Here you go. Thankfully I hid the unmentionables before I took this.

What you’ll also find here is cedar board. Raise your hand if you have cedar board in your home.
Crickets.
Right. Nobody has this stuff, but lucky us.

Here is the ceiling. Yes we’ve been living here for a year 🙁

It’s getting a total redo. New walls, paint, shelves, hanging space, and a pretty ceiling if we can swing it {or decide on it}.
But this closet before story has a happy ending …. We started demo last night.
Good luck with your closet redo. Wow, that is bad.

Wow! Can’t wait to see the transformation!!! 🙂
That’s right, cedar board. It may look like regular old particle board, but its even better!
There’s a great visual history of building materials (decade by decade) inside of that closet 🙂
Oh my, YES: I love the crickets-of-awkward-silence. We used to get an awful lot of that every time we tried to work the topic of our asbestos vinyl tile into polite conversation.
Seriously though – you are so very fortunate to have a large enough closet to stand inside of to demo. What a fun project!
Can’t wait to see the afters! This is going to be a great makeover! =)
