You know those home projects that you've been wanting to do forever? Like the ones…
Our Split Staircase
Hello friends. Today I took a day off from work. This is a big deal because I’m the girl who never takes days off. I think the last time I did it was for our honeymoon last September and before that… who knows! I’m a really enjoying some time to do what I want and it turns out I am seeing my house in some different ways. Did you ever stay home when you are usually not and catch the light just so or notice the silence so perfectly?
Here are some photos if our staircase and upstairs that I like to see during the daytime.
We have a split staircase in the house which means there are two sets of seven steps you can go up that meet at a landing and then one set of seven steps that arrives at the second floor. On the bottom left of this photo you can see the other entrance to go up the stairs right before the kitchen.

Important note: That is the original owners rug. We plan to change it as soon as possible.

There’s a little part of my house you haven’t seen before. I feel like I just revealed a secret. Hope you enjoy your weekend.
For some reason, it’s the days that I work from home that I truly notice how bright our house is. I hope you enjoy your day off!
Hey Jessica, I love your blog! I’m new to blogland (www.little-orphan-aggie.blogspot.com). I love love love your split staircase, they just don’t make them like that any more. It’s so historical to me. Thanks for sharing 🙂
I am so excited to find your blog! Your house is so simular to mine! I love seeing how you decorate it!
Lovin your house. From those of us who live in BLAH late eighties early ninties no character homes…so JEALOUS!
Beautiful windows.
