Down the Block Dresser
It isn’t very often that I find a fabulous free item on the curb that I just need to have so I carry it home with me. So when I do, I get really excited. Kind of like this wire spool I grabbed from the neighbor’s front yard on trash day. Thanks to Beth who figured out what it was!
Just this past weekend I struck curb junk gold with this needed-to-be-rescued-dresser I got only 60 yards from my front door.

Yes sirree, it was half a block and two houses down on the very same side of the street.
It’s funny how even though I’ll probably paint it another color I was attracted to it because it was white. Who doesn’t love white furniture? This darling little thing has some cute details, like caster feet.

Even if one is duck taped for the time being. Don’t worry little foot, I’ll help you!

And these little round pieces on the front.

The drawers are in sorry shape. The two little ones came in pieces. Yes all five parts of the drawer were apart, so I carried them all home too.

Now my question is, exactly what color do I paint her? Have to admit I’m getting a little tired of the white furniture. Although I love it, a girl needs some variety in her furniture right?
I can’t stop thinking about an interesting blue,
Or maybe emerald green?
What about this dark navy?

I plan to put her in my office, which is mixes of white, grey, black and recently a green lamp. I’m still deciding on a color scheme for that room I tell ya. Maybe I’ll pick one this century.
So friends, what are your color suggestions for my new little friend? Oh yea, and she’s not that little. About 41 wide by 25 deep by 36 high. What color furniture are you loving these days?
Oh my goodness… I can see its past gorgeousness! Can’t wait to see how you manage to bring it back to life! I saw a desk on my neighbour’s curb about a month ago that I could tell used to be beautiful, but the drawers were in such bad shape I didn’t think it salvageable. Perhaps I was wrong? I am definitely interested in how you’re going to save them!
What an incredible find… and that one leg really is so sad! haha
You will work wonders on this piece, I just know it!! Can’t wait to see more!
I can’t believe that was only 60 yards for your house. A-may-zing. I can’t wait to see what you do with it. I vote for the first blue – it is bright without being overbearing.
awesome find! my vote is for the peacock blue – i think it is so fun and bright and definitely unexpected! 🙂
