The day is finally here! I finally got my mantle all done this past weekend…
The Fall Mantel
Since we only moved into our house a few months ago I’m still getting used to this mantel decorating bit. I never had a mantel before, but I love it! There’s lots of space on the top, in the front, and inside the unused fire are too {maybe we’ll have a real fire in there someday}.
Fall is so many people’s favorite season. It’s mine, is it yours? Fall is cozy and crisp sweater and tights weather, not to mention a season to celebrate the good things in life – the harvest, the upcoming holidays. There’s so many great things about fall don’t you agree?
Like decorating the mantle. Decorating our first fall mantle was easy peasy. One evening I hiked up to the attic {it’s our entire 3rd floor} and went over to the seasonal decorations corner. I grabbed as many fall things as I could hold and put them all around. Maybe I’ve put too many on the mantle, I’m just excited! Don’t you love finding those decorations you forgot you had?
Take a look at what I put together. I will have a Halloween mantle in a week or so, but I like this in between time of just fall. I might just decorate the mantle in my office as well since there are so many fun fall items to display.
This is our foyer which had its debut here on the blog a few weeks ago. There’s still parts to finish such as getting a rug, and a window treatment, but that is fun to come for another time.
I went with colorful and cozy decorations. I think they help warm up our semi-decorated new home.
I kept the mirror from the summer mantel, there’s not much light in this room yet and the window coverings are from the previous owner still. Pay no attention 🙂
This cloche and dish are thrifted, the floral arrangement is not something I normally do, but I combined the willows and leaves and liked the look.
In the fire area – what should we call that? I stacked some wood slices I got from The Chef’s parents place, his dad cuts wood. Maybe I can add some candles in there, what do you think?
Here is our foyer now in the fall. Complete with my puffy vest on the coat rack 🙂
Thanks for taking a look. Stop by The Nester’s Fantel {Fall Mantel} Party, there are lots of amazing decor ideas over there.
Jessica, Thank you so much for finding me so that I could track back and find you! I too have searched for Buffalo area decorating blogs but haven’t had any luck … until NOW! I absolutely love what you did with your fireplace. Scott would have a heartattack if I painted our brick (although I’d love to!!!) I just love the way that this lightens up your foyer. Great styling – love your layout – let’s get together sometime. I’ve been poking around your site, and I’d love to know where you’re doing your bargain shopping! 🙂
Hi Jessica,
First, I have to admit that I’m not a blog “follower”. I’ve always preferred to “Stumble-Upon” various websites for inspiration and ideas. Yours is the first blog that I’ve decided to become a follower of. Your foyer is absolutely gorgeous!!! Your tagline “Making it pretty, keeping it fun” is my motto completely! Looking forward to your “company” in my inbox!

Jessica, great fireplace and mantle!! I might have to copy a thing or two. =)
Thanks all for the nice comments.
Lori – how sweet! Let me know what you’ve been up to, do you have a blog?
BCP – Send your projects my way!
