Happy day after a long weekend :-) I hope you had a nice time doing…
Flowers in the Garden
When you read this I’ll probably be on a plane heading to the Haven Conference in Atlanta. Woo! I’m really looking forward to meeting all of the bloggers I read so much about and to attending the sessions to learn a lot.
But while I’m away I have some fun for you. Tomorrow the Mister will be guest posting here on DA. Yes, my husband extraordinaire will do a little Q and A about what’s it’s like being married to you know who 🙂
And Friday Tanja from Postmodern Hostess will be holding down the fort; please come back and say hi.
Today I wanted to share with you some beautiful pics from the garden this past weekend. I’ve been trying to shoot more in general so I grab the camera and snap away at whatever subjects I find.
These are some of the roses we have growing. They are just the most precious shade of pink.
There are yellow, pink and white bushes all around the yard. They are quite lovely so I’m learning how to take care of them.
These yellow ones are doing pretty good, there are tons of them. Although the vines on this particular bush are deadly. I mean they are all thorn covered things that will scratch you up! The previous owner told us she planted them in case she got burglars in the yard, she thought these would keep them away. It seems to be working.
Those are the really large bushes. But there are also two little bushes, one with a tiny white bud. It’s a small but significant sign of life.
This hot pink number is looking good too!
We also have this lush ivy that grows like wildfire along the back of the garage. I just love it.
And we have some lilies as well. I got the yellow ones from a friend 2 years ago and it’s the first summer they’ve flowered.
The color is so wonderful to see every day when I go outside. I hope to provide some updates from the conference. Follow me on Twitter here if I can sneak some in.
P.S. A VERY special thanks to Lamps.com who included my wax paper chandelier in their round up of inspirational DIY lighting. I am so honored, thank you!
Safe travels! Such lovely flowers you guys have. And what a nice shout-out from Lamps.com!
Have a great time at the conference, Jessica! I’m so envious 😐 No, not really, I’m just really happy for you 🙂 Your flowers are incredible!!! Can’t wait to see what the Mr. has to say 😉
Jessica – It was so nice to meet you at Haven! Your blog is beautiful! I am enjoying checking it out!
