I absolutely love living in an old house. The character in our home is so…
Found in Our House
The other week I had the idea to make a sort of gallery wall of items we’ve found in our house to put on the wall you see when you come into the door. It’s also the wall you see coming down the stairs and crossing from the kitchen into the front foyer.
I just realized I don’t even have a photo of it painted yet, but I’ll get one soon. Here is just after I took off the wallpaper.

I stripped the wallpaper from it because it was cut badly around the smoke detector and had to be fixed. One snow day in February that paper came down.
Here are some of the things I plan to hang up.

In the garage we found this old racket. It’s it neat?

We also found this really old level. It’s not even level itself 🙂 But I think it’s such a neat found object, so up on the wall it will go.

There were also these old ruler parts. Remember these things? I’ll have to figure out how to display them.

We have a few more items that I’m preparing to go on the “Found Treasurers” wall. I can’t wait to show you. Each is special and tells the story of our house. Even though we may not know it right now.

Have you found anything in your home from previous owners? What did you do with it?
That is a really cool collection! Love the frame with the keys.
What a great idea. Love your finds. I would love to do something like that but I just can’t see putting dead cokroaches on the wall. That’s about all they left for us. Oh, and some stuff behind the refrigerator.
Those are amazing finds!! All we found was a broken lawn mower, some french doors, and loads of faux-finished walls we had to paint over 🙂
