In honor of organizing week, today I'm offering tips on how to stay organized while…
A Fun Way to Label Binders
Dear Washi Tape,
We’re breaking up.
Please don’t be sad Wash, we’ll get back together soon. It’s just that I’m cheating on you with my Silhouette. It’s January and that means time for organizing, so I couldn’t resist a new project. Your green and white tape is fun, but it just wasn’t cutting it anymore.
I got to make some great labels for my binders, finally. I feel so organized!
After using my new favorite craft machine to make New Year’s Eve countdown champagne glasses, I had about a dozen ideas of what I wanted to make so it was about time to get to work. Since I’m such a binder lover, (See my post on How to Organize Home Manuals here), they were the perfect place to add some labels.
All I did was type out some words in my Silhouette software and cut them out. Easy and now I’ll know what information is in each binder instead of opening them to look. They’re a great addition to my home office, more of which I’ll be showing you this year.
I started with these few binders, but I have lots more to label too.
If you are in the organizing mood like many of us these days, come see more Silhouette projects. My Silhouette Challenge friends and I are all sharing projects related to this theme of ORGANIZATION on our blogs today, so peruse the projects below for a wealth of inspiration.

Very nice! I love how the Silhouette turns ordinary-looking labels into clean, crisp words to label things. I’ll bet you enjoy staring at your binders now!!
OH I love this! You did a great job! I have to say that I also LOOOOOOOOOVE that sign on your wall “I love you, blogs, and tea” It’s perfect 🙂
Your letter to washi tape made me crack up! It is a great idea to have a manual for all your house stuff. We just have all our stuff in folders all over the place.
Oh, poor washi. 🙁 I hope you don’t leave him hanging alone for too long! But I agree, your silhouette labels are great!
Jessica,
I love a good binder to gather my resources together. Thanks for a great way to do it at home with style.
Happy Creating,
Karen Marie
Jessica ~ I’m glad I’m not the only one who talks to my craft stuff! ha- ha. Great idea to use the Silhouette to label binders! I like that they all have a uniform look to them now.
