Grown Up Furniture

Morning all. Happy Saturday to you. What are your plans for this weekend? Right now I’m sipping green tea with honey, my favorite, while I make a mental list of what I want to accomplish in the next 48 hours.

But first I want to show you what’s been going on in my living room. You’ve not really seen it on here a lot. Did you realize that? Except for some pics of the Christmas tree in December.

The mystery living room has been for a few reasons, number one being we had a terribly unsightly couch and not a thing hung on the walls. It’s been pretty much a blank Creamy Mushroom (the paint color) box since we moved in last June.

Thankfully it’s not an unsightly box anymore. We have furniture! Real, grown up furniture.

As you know The Chef and I have been shopping for a couch. As luck would have it we scored a great deal on one last weekend and it arrived this week.  While it was snowing all over the country, our couch was moving in.

In the mean time it looked like this for two days. Empty.

Now we have these new pieces in there, a love seat and a couch.

It has some nice modern lines which is why we picked it. And we got a great deal as it was a floor sample.

And is big and comfy. I may or may not have fallen asleep on it the first night we had it home.

As you’ll notice we have a lot of tan going on in this room. Tan walls, tan couches, tan rug and coffee table. That will have to change soon, so I’ve been looking for ways to bring some color and pattern into the room. And I already have some ideas on how to do it.

I’m feeling much more confident in the progress our new place is making. How are things in your home? Get any new furniture these days?

The projects just continue here! Hope you enjoy your weekend.
