Sometimes decorating paralyzes me with fear. Funny coming from a blogger who writes about decorating…
Painted Abstract Art + Free Printable
This past weekend was so relaxing that I got to dive into some of the hobbies I save up for rainy days, like painting, weaving and scrapbooking. Since I had some time to change up some of the decor in our room, I got to make this new home paint colors abstract art for our bedroom.
Making art for your home can be both scary and exhilarating once you learn that you aren’t terrible at it. Creating something on your own can be a lot of fun. This home paint colors abstract art is an easy way to add color to any space. I used a pallet of all the colors we actually have in our house, but of course, you can use any of your favorite hues.
We had these three frames and a lot of paint from various projects, so I decided to combine the two and try my hand at abstract art. I cut up mat board into various widths and brushed on colors from samples I had picked up at Home Depot. Samples are only a few dollars and you can get any color.
To get abstract brushstrokes, dip a brush into a color and wipe most of it off inside the jar. Lay the brush across the surface you are painting on very parallel to the surface, rather than up and down where the end of the brush is sticking straight up in the air.
The best thing about abstract art is that you can make it up as you go! Anyone can be an artist in their own home.
