Happy Thursday all. Are you up for another room tour at my place? This week…
The Master Bedroom One Year Later
Ten months ago yesterday The Chef and I moved into our first home. It’s been so much fun {and lots of paint cans} making our house a home.
Want to see how far we’ve come? I’d love to show you some of our rooms. Let’s start in the Master bedroom, it’s a space you have rarely seen here, did you know that?!
Now prepare yourself for a trip back in time before you see this photo. There is a red shag carpet. This is actually a photo I took during the home inspection. This is not my decor, just had to make sure you knew in case you are glancing quickly.
Here is the space the night of our closing. The first thing we did was tear out that carpet.
And since I just recently discovered I have the ability to make collages on Picnik through my Flickr account, I’ve created a collage just for you.
Here is our master bedroom.
We removed that carpet, refinished the floors and started painting.

I love our pillows. All ten of them.
Next to the closet is our lamp-on-remote. We have no wall switches so I found a fake switch you use via remote.

On the other side of the closet is a mirror for my fashion shows and general everyday getting ready.
In the reflection you can see the jewelry holder I made. It is one of a few things hung up. And the temporary drop cloth curtains.
The mirror is on top of the wine crates The Chef found in his former apartment. Don’t you just love getting things other homeowners leave behind?
There are many things I’d love to do in this space including:
Hang curtains
Renovate the closet, wait until you see that before
Hang a gallery wall
Make a headboard
Get a large rug that fits
For now, it’s a cozy retreat. What do you think? Have you hung a gallery wall? How many pillows do you have on your bed?
Oh, I miss that red carpet! NOT!! Looks wonderful! I’ll bet you’re not kidding about the fashion show though. Would love to see that blog post!
Who’s that good looking man with the sander in that one picture?
You’ve done a ton of work and it looks great!! Can’t wait to see your gallery wall!
