Mini Lamp Makeover
In the midst of redoing the dining room I came across a pair of lamps while out thrifting one day. They were a neat pattern and I like the blue so I bargained the seller down to $8 each and brought them home. Kind of modern but unique, you think? With some new shades and craft paint I did a simple lamp makeover so these would have a home in our dining room.
And the bottoms needed new felt so off I went to get these two ready for display in my dining room.
A mini lamp makeover. What do you think?
I kind of like how the black ribbon on the shade reflects the black on the bottom. Plus it stands out on the white soon-to-be-revealed buffet. I think these two could be inspiration pieces for a whole room, don’t you?
Lamps 2 at $8 each = $16
New wire = $7
New shades 2 at $12 each = $24
Total for the mini makeover = $47 for two lamps
How is our dining room makeover going? Here is where things are.
Pick out a wallpaper for in between the wall slats
Decide if we are painting the ceiling or not Not now, we want to see how the room comes together
Remove blinds and clean windows
Buy and put up window film
Find fabulous fabric for the window treatments. I ended up getting curtains from Ikea and hanging those
Make curtains (if I buy fabric) and roman shades and hang them all
Make frames for mirror wall art
Buy frames (or find some) for other wall art I have planned
Decide which color to paint buffet and then paint it
Find new hardware for the buffet
Find lamps and shades for the buffet, repaint part of the new lamps
Decide on/find other wall art?
Pick out and buy a rug
Get a new chandelier
Other lighting?
Throw a dinner party to enjoy our new room!

I’ve got to admit I thought you were a little crazy for liking these lamps when I saw the first picture. However, when I saw the transformation I was jealous. I wish I could see something ugly and see how beautiful it could be. Good job!
