Hello all. Hope your week is going along nicely. The summer is slowly coming to a…
Move Furniture It’s Free {A Dining Room Update}
My dining room decorating project has been going on for about a year and I’ve done pretty much everything to shape it up including wallpaper, paint, make curtains, the list goes on.
Just the other week after we put the new rug down I noticed something was out of place.
We had this bookshelf in the one corner by the window seat.
Even if it was cute with it’s little accessories on the shelves.
But allllll the way across the house in the living room we had this cabinet which used to be a wood sticker-like laminate. Until I painted it. I think it’s 1,000 times prettier in a light grey. But I pretty much think that about everything.
We brought it up from the basement one night and turned it into a bar.
Then it occurred to me that since I was sprucing up the dining room to be all ready for entertaining and such that I should move the cabinet/bar into the dining room where we can more easily access the beverages.And so with the magic that is furniture sliders… presto, the shelves and bar have switched.
The black bookshelves are hanging out in the living room {see them back there on the right}. This is the only pic I have of them right now and it just so happens to be a sneak peek at another new project in the dining room, the little shelves I painted. You lucky ducks.
I’ve returned those curtains, don’t get attached.
And the bar is now where it belongs in the dining room.
If you are wondering, yes I actually did move both of these on my own. I took every last thing out of them and slid them to their new spots.
The bar is all set back up.
And I think it looks perfect in there.
See how easy that is? Move any furniture at your place lately?
P.S. I saw The Hunger Games last night, what did you think, did you see it?!
Oh boy, I so moved my desk ‘without’ my furniture sliders, and was feeling the pain. My desk was made by my Dad, and it’s solid, heavy, and not mover friendly. It took hubs and I to manage the move… Ironically, my Dad’s friends are borrowing my sliders! Who knew I’d need them when they were being loaned out? I guess Murphy did!!!
Lovely pictures, and what a great idea to repurpose a piece of furniture into something you will use more often! Isn’t it odd how moving or adding one piece of furniture to a room changes it? Look forward to seeing more of your projects.
