Ten months ago yesterday The Chef and I moved into our first home. It's been…
Our Bedroom a Year Later
Happy Thursday all. Are you up for another room tour at my place? This week I’m celebrating move-a-versary, the one year mark of owning our first home so we’re taking a peek at what I’ve done to the place these past 12 months. Tuesday you saw the foyer and yesterday was the kitchen. Are you up for seeing the bedroom?
This space is upstairs in the front of the house and was a blank slate when we moved in. Well blank if you don’t count the red shag carpet!

After closing and before move in we:
- Ripped out that carpet
- Sanded, and refinished the floors {this is our friend Kirk sanding away}

- Painted {We picked the top color which is Flint Smoke by Behr}

- Moved in our furniture and things
- Hung up real curtains

- Decorated a little bit

Since this post I wrote about the bedroom a few months ago we made the headboard and hung up some art. Here is the room today.

In the summer I use mostly white linens. I love how clean and calming they are.

The headboard is in a Dwell Studio fabric, I just made it a few weeks ago.

There’s also my jewelry holder

Our wine crate book storage and mirror prop.

The other side of the room is waiting for a gallery wall. I hope to get to it someday. Actually I’m waiting to print some photos first. It’s looking a bit cluttered over there whoa, I better get on that!

What we still have to do in here:
- Makeover the closet, that project is right around the corner
- Hang the gallery wall
- Get a curtain rod and hang the curtains properly
- Declutter apparently 🙂
I’d say it’s come a long way since the shag, right?
I love your jewelry holder. I plan on making one just like it for my bedroom 🙂
Lovely home! However, personally I love shag carpeting!
