Hello! Hope you are having a lovely week. I've been doing so many projects around…
Our New Mattress: The Dream Bed
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Dream Bed™.
When I got my first real job, with my first real salary, guess what I spent my grown-up money on?
No purses. No shoes. No girls night out.
I bought myself a bed.
Yes, being the responsible person I am, I made a grown up move and got a mattress, box spring and bed frame. It was my first “big” purchase and I was so excited.
That was 15 years ago and sadly, up until this past weekend, we were still sleeping on that same grown up bed. We needed a new mattress badly, but the thought of shopping for one and deciding which to get was overwhelming. We barely have time to eat dinner together with work, activities and our baby girl, but we are new-ish parents who are busy but very much need a great night’s sleep.
I had heard of buying a mattress online and having it shipped to my house but there are so many questions in doing this.
What does it feel like? Will it be comfortable? How do we put it together? What if we don’t like it?
Thankfully all of these questions were answered in the few minutes it took for us to assemble and try out our new mattress, The Dream Bed™.
The Dream Bed is a bed-in-a-box mattress you can buy online or in person, under the company Mattress Firm, and has only been around for a few months. We’ve had the chance to receive a Queen size dream bed and are enjoying the quality and comfort of it. Yay, a restful night for us! Not only is is super easy to assemble, but ordering a Dream Bed is a way to do something amazing for someone else with their giving back program, called Dream It Forward.
Dream It Forward
The Dream Bed’s Giving Program provides a bed to a family in need for every mattress purchased. What other company do you know that does that? It really is an amazing and socially-responsible move on their part. In today’s marketplace you have lots of choices for every product you buy and it’s worthwhile to buy from companies that do the right thing. The Dream Bed does the right thing. They’ve give away hundreds of mattress so far and are just getting started. Wouldn’t you sleep better knowing someone in need had a new bed too?
Assembling Your New Dream Bed
Once the bed arrived on our porch we could hardly wait to open it up and get it up to our bedroom. It may seem strange to order a bed online, but it’s actually very easy. It comes in its own box with instructions ready for you.
We carried the box upstairs and me and my tiny assistant got to work.
Here is a quick video we put together showing you how to get the mattress from its delivery box onto your bed and ready to use. This is sped up, but the entire thing in real time was less than 2 minutes!
You let the bed “inflate” for an hour and then it’s ready to go.
About Buying a Mattress Online
The Dream Bed offers 180 nights for you to try out their mattress and if you don’t like it, you can send it back. They’ll refund your money, no questions asked.
They also offer quality craftsmanship and free delivery, plus they sell pillows and offer the bed in all 5 standard sizes. You can try it out at a Mattress Firm location, but trust me, you won’t need to. It’s super comfortable and your body will thank you for giving it some good rest.
When you buy a Dream Bed you actually give a bed to someone in need! Giving back is one of the socially responsible business models that The Dream Bed was founded on. And it’s the prefect reason to make a decision about buying one for yourself.

Here it is all set up in our newly rearranged bedroom. Last you saw the bedroom it looked like this. We had plans to make it a comfortable retreat and move things around so they made sense a little more, so we switched the bed to go on the navy accent wall. What do you think?
We’re lounging in The Dream bed right now and I’m about to go to sleep but if you want to learn more, see the info below about the Twitter party.
I will tell you somethings I like about it, in case you had questions and if you have more, I’d love to know. Leave me a comment.
- Getting The Dream Bed allowed us to skip mattress shopping all together. In an industry that has so many options, this was a huge bonus. No going from store to store, looking for the best price. No moving the baby all around with us. It was super convenient.
- We also avoided the sometimes awkward delivery people coming into your house. And up into your personal space. No dirty shoes tracked in my house. No time waiting at home for someone else.
- Assembly is quick. Less than 2 minutes (plus the hour to wait) and it was done.
- The bed is really soft. I’ve never had a memory foam mattress before and it is different than the traditional mattress with springs. When one of us rolls over at night, the other person isn’t disturbed.
- It doesn’t make any noise. Like above, coils can get loud. This bed is perfectly silent.
- It holds your body very nicely. I don’t know how else to describe this except with our old spring mattress sometimes a hip or shoulder is sticking out strangely. With this mattress, that doesn’t happen, it’s very relaxing to be on.
