Hello all. Hope your week is going along nicely. The summer is slowly coming to a…
A Peek at the Grass Cloth Wall Paper
After a long seven months of ordering and waiting and ordering and waiting {and ordering for a third time}, I finally got all the grass cloth I need AND hung it up in the dining room. We started decorating the dining room last summer since it had not had anything done to it since we moved in and we use the room quite often. Time to give it some personality! See our progress here.
Although I was expecting the wallpaper part of the project to be done for my sister’s wedding shower back in September, since I was told my wall paper would be in between 10-14 days, it ended up being on back order for three months.
Talk about a delay in your project!
So I waited and we finally got the first roll in around October. Turns our someone didn’t measure and needed to order not one but two other rolls.
Yea that someone was me. I take full responsibility for this major oversight when doing wall paper. I didn’t measure. I thought the double roll {which is the minimum you can order} were about 120 square feet, turns out they were 72 and we used 2+ rolls to cover the lower half of our 30 x 15 dining room.
Measure folks, even if you think you’d have enough!
But now let’s get to the photos. This is not a how to, I’ll explain that in another post, but I am so happy this installation is done! And now, grass cloth for your viewing pleasure 🙂
This wall paper installation was not typical, in that our dining room as a plate rail and vertical slats all around the room. We cut each piece to fit precisely in the rectangles between the slats.

I love the color of the grasscloth wallpaper. Do you mind sharing where you purchased it and what color it is? In advance, thank you for sharing your creativity.
Hi Brittany,
The wallpaper is from Lowes in a book that they have in the wallpaper section. It was from a black book called Astek, Passions of the Orient and is pattern 133. I hope they still have it and that helps!
