Happy Labor Day friend. I hope you got to relax this weekend. Saturday was my…
Leaves Made From Window Screen Fall Craft
On my Thanksgiving table I wanted to tie in a fall decoration to the napkin for the place settings. I wanted to use some kind of leaf shape so I decided to make painted leaves made from window screen as a decoration on the napkin. I made these a few years ago and found some unpainted ones when I was unpacking my fall decorations. These are a very easy to make fall craft idea and only involve some cutting and painting.
Supplies you will need include :
- Window screen, preferably the wire kind as opposed to nylon, the wire type holds it shape better
- Spray paint of any color
- Scissors
- A sharpie
- 3-D paint in colors you prefer. I used bronze, gold and copper shades.
First you spray paint both sides of a section of screen. Be careful when working with it, I recommend gloves, as it can stab your skin. Let the paint dry.
Then you trace leaf shapes onto the screen with a sharpie and cut them out. Using different leaf sizes and shapes makes for a nice variety.

Here is what my leaves looked like when they were finished. The ribbon around the stems is from tying them around the napkins. Obviously you can tie these, sting them or hang them in many different ways around the house.

Such a cute idea! I bet snowflakes would be cute too…maybe?
I think snowflakes would work great!
