If you want to know what life is really like where I live, I can tell you that it’s about 40 degrees and it snowed yesterday. Can you believe that? While I see buds of spring and pictures of flowers all over blog land, it’s cool and cloudy here. But that doesn’t stop me from making some spring crafts, like a wreath for the door.
For my spring wreath I re purposed the
jute wrapped one I used in the fall and winter. It was my goal to reuse it, make it year-round decor worthy and spring was a perfect match for its jute-ness.
My plan for the wreath’s spring attire was a moss initial and some butterflies.
For the initial I painted a wooden W in a green craft paint and covered it with ribbon moss I found at Joanns. I’ve seen people use the sheets of moss but I thought I’d try the ribbon and see how that would work.
For the butterflies I punched away with some springy craft paper.
I simply glued them on and secured the initial with some ribbon and viola, spring!

If you bend the butterflies a bit, they look like they are flying. Cute!
The moss initial came out pretty mossy, what do you think?
I can’t decide if I like it better on the back door or the front door.

Did you make any thing for spring?
