Now that fall is just around the corner, it's the perfect time to harvest…
The floors in our house get extremely dusty and we don’t even have pets. They’ve been a sore spot for me since I realized how much work it takes to clean them on a regular basis. We’d have to sweep, vacuum, wash, and with all the area rugs, it’s quite a pain. Not to mention very time consuming.
I’ve secretly had a robotic vacuum on my wish list ever since I realized they would solve all my floor cleaning problems, save me time, and keep our home cleaner in general. Plus do the work for me! With grad school, a toddler, 2 businesses I run from home, and a husband that owns his own, sadly, cleaning is not at the top of our list. I feel like I’m always apologizing to guests for our dusty floors.
The amazing people with bObsweep asked if I would like to review one of their robotic vacuums and I was more than happy to say yes in less than a second.

Having a robotic vacuum is a great solution if you:
- Don’t have time to clean your floors
- Just don’t want to clean your floors, and who does?!
- Have a large space that takes you a while to keep up
- Have pets or children that make a mess more often than usual
- Want to get housework done but don’t want to do it yourself or hire someone
Sounds like you, right? We received the bObi Classic and I couldn’t wait to turn her on and let her have fun taking care of our floors. The bObsweep comes in several models including the Classic, bObiPet, bObsweepPetHair, and the PetHairPlus. They combine sweeping, vacuuming, mop, UV sterilize, and air filtering. I thought they just vacuumed!
I put together these tips for using a robotic vacuum, so you can get the most out of it. So go put the bObi Classic on your wish list today.
Read All the Instructions
You have to do a few things to set your bObi up for success so read through the manual and follow all the instructions. I couldn’t wait to read the book, so I would know exactly what to do to get started. There’s a quick step-by-step Quick Start Guide to get things going including putting in the battery, charging and using the remote. A remote! How amazing is that?
Set up the Charging Station in an Open Spot
Two feet on either side and 10 feet in front is recommended as the best clearance for a charging station. It’s best on a flat surface against a wall. This is also so bObi can find her way home after a long day of traveling your floors.
We put our charging station in the living room, behind the love seat under the window where there’s not much traffic. Make sure you let your vacuum fully charge overnight before cleaning for the first time.
Clean up Clutter from the Floor
Your bObsweep will perform best and you’ll get a cleaner place if you can move things off the floor. We brought up all the toys and chairs so bObi could do her thing and I plan to do this twice weekly. You can program bObi to work on a set schedule so I figure Sunday and Wednesday nights for a thorough sweep/vacuum/sterilize will be great.
Children don’t count as clutter. Cora was trying to follow bObi around. Super cute 🙂
This video shows you a few things about how bObi works. She navigates around items, walls and furniture safely and effectively. No bumping into things. Plus she can move from hardwood floors on to carpet and back again with no problem. I loved this since we have several rugs in our rooms.
Let bObi Learn on Her Own
Don’t be tempted to move bObi during her work, she’ll best learn your home as she goes. You can always move the furniture a little bit to let bOb learn your place better, like we do with the chairs and toys. The way bObi moves will seem completely random and wrong, but just go with it, this is your new family member learning its way.
Give bObi a Check Up Often
The manual will show you exactly how to check the brushes and canisters. Make sure to do this after each clean so bObi can pick up all she needs to. Wonder if bObi is picking up anything at all? You bet she is, check the dust bin and you’ll find things you couldn’t get with any broom or mop.
These are some simple steps for keeping your new friend is great working order. Have you ever used a robotic vacuum? Dying to bring bObi into your family?
