Easy Tomato and Green Bean Salad
Hello friends. I don’t often share recipes here, but I had to pass along this easy dish that’s just perfect for summer entertaining and events. It’s my go-to tomato and green bean salad and it couldn’t be more easy to make or delicious to eat. If you are always racking your brain about what to whip up for company or dinner, all you need is the ingredients below and 15 minutes. Here is how to make tomato and green bean salad.
Ingredients
- Tomatoes
- Green Beans
- Basil
- Salt & Pepper
- Olive Oil
How to Make Tomato and Green Bean Salad
1. First you’ll cut of the ends of the green beans and cut them into small pieces. The sizes are up to you, I usually cut them in thirds. Then boil the beans to cook them for about 8 minutes. And I find it helps with flavor if you put a little salt in the water while you are boiling the beans.
2. While the beans are cooking, cut up the tomatoes into bite size pieces and shred some basil and mix together with salt, pepper and a little olive oil to taste.
3. When the beans are done, since they will be hot, I usually put them in the “blast chiller” aka the freezer for about 15 minutes to cool them down. Once they are cool, mix them with the rest of the ingredients and you are all done.
This salad only takes a few minutes and can be made with simple ingredients you can easily get from the farmers market or grow in your own garden like we are this year. I hope to make my own salsa this summer too, wish me luck.
