Updates in the Guest Room
I hope you are having a wonderful summer and it’s going slower than mine is. I can’t believe it’s mid-July already, can you? It’s my busiest season at work and I know the rest of the year is going to zoom by in a flash. Are you feeling the same way?
This speediness of time always motivates me to get things done. I have high productivity needs and I take them out on my house. This past weekend I made some improvements in the guest room.

Previously I had a thrifted shade that I painted in this turquoise color. I tried to love it, I really did, but the turquoise just wasn’t feeling at home in the room. I know it was color of the year and all, but I had to go with my gut and change it out.

TJ Maxx came to the rescue. Do you have that store by you? It’s the same HomeGoods company and TJ always has a fabulous home item section. It’s where I got this new drum shade.

I love how it’s a shimmery brown on the inside. Kind of glam I think.

And I know I am totally behind the 8-ball on this one but I’ve recently been bringing some of the outdoors in too. With these easy to snip, they grow everywhere in my backyard hosta leaves. I love the color they bring.
New lamp shade, new leaves and some decor in the middle. Simple but it works. On the far left of this pic below is the new sconce we got for this room too. I still have to show you our lighting upgrades. There seem to be so many projects going on these days.

I scheduled the closet install this morning, yahoo! {We’re still working on the walls.} We’re stripping 111 years of paint off the front porch {oh what a joy} and I have to get my behind in gear and work on the dining room. I’m hosting a shower there soon.
Happy Monday eve lovelies. Just think, we’re 12 hours closer to Friday 🙂
