The Winter Blues

Lately I’ve been loving deep blue colors. Maybe it’s winter, maybe it’s trendy, maybe it’s the desperate need I have to bring some color into our living room.  I love the way blue feels in a home, it’s so universal and makes a great neutral or accent color.
Sine we moved in last June we’d been making due with a hand-me-down sofa in the living room but just the other week we picked out a classic set and it was delivered soon after. Cheers for grown up furniture!

Only problem {as you can see} is there’s a lot of tan in the room now. Tan walls, tan carpet, tan, furniture. The space needs some oompf!
So I brought in some blue.

I made these pillow covers to go right over the pillows that came with the couches. I love the variety of color in the fabric plus the modern feeling.

I also spruced up the side tables which previously looked like this.

Now they look like this with some chevron. The blue paint is the sample I used to test a color for the side foyer. At least it works in here!

I love the look of the pillows and tables together. What do you think?

The blue throw works perfectly in here. I actually bought it for The Chef when we were dating.

With the addition of the new furniture we moved things around a bit in here. We have this space between the loveseat and windows.

I may still do something different back there, but we’re trying it out for now.

Next we’ll work on some art for the walls and curtains for the windows. Suggestions welcome!
